The Orlando Magic took down the Cleveland Cavaliers 128-122 on Wednesday night in an action-packed shootout. Both teams lit up the scoreboard, but Orlando's balanced attack proved too much.
Bane Catches Fire
Desmond Bane was unstoppable. The Magic's sharpshooter poured in 35 points and dished out 6 assists. He hit shots from everywhere on the court. When Bane caught the ball beyond the arc, defenders held their breath. His smooth jump shot barely touched the net as it splashed through. He also grabbed 6 rebounds, doing the dirty work on both ends. Bane looked like a superstar, leading his team when it mattered most.
Banchero Powers the Paint
Paolo Banchero showed why he was the number one overall pick. The big forward muscled his way to 25 points and 8 rebounds. He used his size to bully defenders near the basket. Banchero also set up teammates with 7 assists, showing his all-around skills. When he drove to the rim, Cleveland's defense scrambled to stop him.
Tristan Da Silva stepped up big time with 23 points. He knocked down shot after shot, filling in with Anthony Black sidelined by injury. Wendell Carter Jr. controlled the glass with 11 rebounds and added 11 points. Jalen Suggs brought the energy with 12 points and 3 steals.
Cavs Fight Hard
Cleveland didn't go down easy. James Harden dropped 30 points and ran the offense with 8 assists. His crossover dribbles left defenders spinning. Donovan Mitchell added 25 points and 5 assists, attacking the basket with speed. Keon Ellis came off the bench for 20 points, providing a huge spark.
Evan Mobley dominated inside with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The reigning defensive player of the year swatted 2 shots away. But Cleveland missed Jarrett Allen, who sat out with a right knee injury.
The Final Push
Orlando led 38-35 after the first quarter. The teams battled to a 62-62 tie at halftime. The Magic pulled ahead 96-89 after three quarters. In the fourth, they held on for the six-point victory.
Orlando improved to 36-28 while Cleveland dropped to 40-26.
