The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder put on a show Wednesday night. They crushed the Milwaukee Bucks 122-102 on the road. The reigning MVP made sure everyone remembered why he wears the crown.
Shai Takes Over
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was unstoppable from start to finish. The Thunder superstar dropped 40 points on incredible shooting. He made 16 of his 19 shots from the floor. That's over 84 percent!
Shai didn't just score. He also dished out 11 assists and grabbed seven rebounds. He controlled the game like a master artist painting on canvas. His footwork froze defenders in their tracks. His drives to the basket looked effortless and smooth.
Thunder Strike Early
Oklahoma City came out firing. They jumped ahead 38-18 after the first quarter. The Bucks never recovered from that punch.
Ajay Mitchell provided a huge spark off the bench. The young guard scored 18 points on sharp shooting. He helped fill the gap with Alex Caruso and Jalen Williams both out with injuries.
Kenrich Williams also added 18 points and eight rebounds. Luguentz Dort chipped in 13 points with his usual tough defense. Chet Holmgren patrolled the paint with 10 points, seven rebounds, and a block.
Bucks Struggle Despite Giannis
Milwaukee couldn't keep pace. Giannis Antetokounmpo grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 19 points. But it wasn't nearly enough against the Thunder's balanced attack.
Cole Anthony led the bench with 17 points. Bobby Portis added 15 points and handed out nine assists. A.J. Green also scored 15. The Bucks were missing Myles Turner, which hurt their interior defense.
Championship Form
The Thunder improved to 37-8, the best record in the Western Conference. They're rolling even without key players. Milwaukee fell to 18-25 and continues searching for answers. Oklahoma City looks like the team to beat once again.
