Rookies Take Center Stage
The NBA's newest stars keep getting better every week. These five rookies showed incredible skills during Week 20. They're learning fast and giving fans plenty to cheer about.
Flagg Does Everything for Dallas
Cooper Flagg stands at 6-foot-9 and plays like a giant on the court. The number one pick battles for every rebound and runs the floor like a deer. Against Toronto, he swatted away three shots and grabbed eight rebounds. His long arms close passing lanes like gates slamming shut. Against Atlanta, Flagg pulled down 12 rebounds while dishing five assists. Dallas lost both games, but Flagg keeps fighting hard every night.
Knueppel's Shooting Touch Shines
Kon Knueppel has one of the smoothest shooting strokes in basketball. He released the ball against Portland and watched it splash through the net. Knueppel scored 15 points in that win for Charlotte. His quick release gives defenders no chance to block his shot. He's averaging about 19 points per game and shooting 44 percent from three-point range. That's amazing for any player, especially a rookie.
Harper Keeps Winning in San Antonio
Dylan Harper stands 6-foot-5 and sees the court like a general commanding troops. The Spurs won both their games this week. Against Houston, Harper drained three of his four three-pointers. He finished with 19 points and six assists. Against Boston, he passed the ball five times for baskets. San Antonio sits second in their conference with Harper helping lead the way.
Johnson and Fears Show Promise
Tre Johnson scored 20 points against New Orleans in a loss. His shooting ability at 6-foot-6 makes him hard to guard. Washington sees big things ahead for him.
Jeremiah Fears runs the point for New Orleans with lightning speed. He dished seven assists against Washington in a win. His handles make defenders dizzy trying to keep up.
These rookies are building bright futures.
