Week 6 NFL Power Rankings – Teams 32–17
The first month of the NFL season is over, and teams at the bottom of the standings are feeling the pressure. Some are fighting through injuries, others are breaking in rookie quarterbacks, and a few are just struggling to finish close games. This week brought more heartbreak, a few surprises, and some clear signs of which teams might be in trouble. Let’s look at how the league’s lower half stacks up after Week 5.
32. New York Jets (0-5)
The Jets fell to the Cowboys 37-22 in another rough outing. Justin Fields made some big plays, but five sacks and two turnovers kept the Jets from keeping up. Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall showed effort, but the defense gave up too many touchdowns. New York is still searching for answers as the losses pile up.
31. New York Giants (1-4)
The Giants lost 26-14 to the Saints after learning that star rookie Malik Nabers is out for the season. Jaxson Dart threw two touchdowns but also two interceptions in his second start. Rookie tight end Theo Johnson scored twice, but the offense couldn’t finish drives in the second half. Without Nabers, the Giants will have to find new ways to move the ball.
30. New Orleans Saints (1-4)
The Saints finally broke through with a 26-14 win over the Giants. Spencer Rattler looked sharp and Rashid Shaheed exploded for an 87-yard touchdown that turned the game around. The defense sealed the victory with a long fumble return in the fourth quarter. New Orleans showed fight, now they need to keep that energy going into Week 6.
29. Tennessee Titans (1-4)
The Titans pulled off a stunning 22-21 comeback win against the Cardinals. Rookie quarterback Cameron Ward led two late touchdown drives, showing toughness and confidence. Veteran receiver Tyler Lockett caught the game-winner off a deflected pass in the end zone. Tennessee finally got on the board, and Ward is giving fans a reason to believe.
28. Las Vegas Raiders (1-4)
The Raiders were dominated 40-6 by the Colts. Rookie Ashton Jeanty had a few solid runs, but turnovers and sacks killed every drive. Geno Smith threw two interceptions and the defense couldn’t get off the field. Vegas has to regroup quickly before the season slips away completely.
27. Miami Dolphins (1-4)
Miami dropped a heartbreaking 27-24 loss to Carolina and after already losing Tyreek Hill for the season. Tua Tagovailoa threw three touchdowns, including a 46-yarder to Jaylen Waddle, but the defense couldn’t stop the run. The Dolphins’ offense still moves the ball, but Hill’s injury leaves a massive hole. They’ll need someone to step up to keep hope alive.
26. Cleveland Browns (1-4)
The Browns played hard but lost 21-17 to the Vikings in London. Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw two touchdowns and looked calm in his first start. Quinshon Judkins rushed for over 100 yards, showing his strength as the lead back. Cleveland showed progress, but late mistakes cost them again.
25. Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)
The Bengals lost 37-24 to the Lions on Sunday night. Jake Browning threw three touchdowns, but two interceptions gave Detroit easy points. Ja’Marr Chase had a big night with 110 yards and two scores, but the defense couldn’t stop Jared Goff. The Bengals fought hard but still can’t finish games without Joe Burrow.
24. Baltimore Ravens (1-4)
The Ravens were crushed 44-10 by the Texans. Lamar Jackson missed the game with a hamstring injury, and the offense couldn’t move the ball without him. Baltimore has faced an incredibly tough schedule, but they’re at real risk of missing the playoffs if Lamar stays sidelined. The defense looked gassed, giving up four touchdown passes to C.J. Stroud.
23. Arizona Cardinals (2-3)
The Cardinals blew a 21-6 halftime lead and lost 22-21 to the Titans. Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. connected for some big plays early, but mistakes in the fourth quarter cost them the game. The defense couldn’t stop Cameron Ward late, and fumbles were a problem again. Arizona needs to learn how to close games.
22. Carolina Panthers (2-3)
The Panthers pulled off a thrilling 27-24 win over the Dolphins. Bryce Young showed poise, throwing the game-winning touchdown to Mitchell Evans. Running back Rico Dowdle exploded for over 200 rushing yards, carrying the offense in the second half. Carolina’s young players are starting to click, and this win could spark a turnaround.
21. Houston Texans (2-3)
The Texans shocked everyone with a 44-10 blowout win over the Ravens. C.J. Stroud was outstanding, throwing four touchdowns and spreading the ball around to his playmakers. In addition, the defense forced three interceptions. Houston looked like a complete team and could be ready to climb the standings.
20. Chicago Bears (2-2)
The Bears had a bye this week after a close win in Week 4. Caleb Williams has given the offense life, and the defense has tightened up over the past two games. They’ve been playing smarter football with fewer mistakes. Chicago will need that same balance when they return in Week 6.
19. Atlanta Falcons (2-2)
The Falcons rested this week after a tough loss before the bye. Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. continues to flash potential, and Bijan Robinson remains the focal point of the offense. The defense has been up and down but shows effort. Atlanta needs to start fast next week to stay in the NFC playoff race.
18. Dallas Cowboys (2-2-1)
The Cowboys rolled past the Jets 37-22 behind Dak Prescott’s four touchdown passes. Javonte Williams ran for over 130 yards, finally breaking out as the team’s lead back. The defense applied pressure all game and created turnovers. Dallas looked like a contender again and will try to build on that momentum.
17. New England Patriots (3-2)
The Patriots stunned the Bills 23-20 on the road. Drake Maye showed incredible composure, and Rhamondre Stevenson powered in two touchdowns. The defense created turnovers and limited Josh Allen in key moments. This win proved New England can compete with anyone when they play smart, physical football.
The bottom half of the rankings is full of teams searching for answers, at quarterback, on defense, or just in how to close games. Some young players, like Bryce Young and Dillon Gabriel, are giving fans hope, while others are still trying to find their rhythm. With several injuries and backup quarterbacks now in the spotlight, the next few weeks could shake things up even more.
