Central Division Heating Up
The Central Division has a clear leader, but every team is fighting hard. Some teams are climbing. Others are searching for answers. Let's check in on all five squads.
Detroit Pistons Rule the Division
The Pistons sit on top with a fantastic 32-11 record. They're the best team in the entire Eastern Conference. Cade Cunningham leads the charge with about 26 points and 9 assists per game. He zips the ball around the court like a magician. Jalen Duren powers the paint with about 19 points and 11 rebounds. On Friday, Detroit knocked off Houston 115-111. Their only hiccup came Wednesday against Chicago.
Cleveland Cavaliers Chase Behind
Cleveland holds a 26-20 record, sitting 7.5 games back. Donovan Mitchell lights up scoreboards with about 31 points per game. He cuts through defenses like a hot knife through butter. The Cavs beat Brooklyn 131-124 on Friday after losing to New York on Wednesday. Injuries are piling up though. Darius Garland and Max Strus are both out.
Chicago Bulls Finding Their Groove
The Bulls are heating up at 22-22. Josh Giddey does it all with about 20 points, 9 assists, and 9 rebounds. He fills the stat sheet like a kid filling a glass with water. Chicago has won two straight games. They beat Detroit 115-111 on Wednesday, then handled Orlando 110-98 on Saturday.
Milwaukee Bucks Building Momentum
Milwaukee started slow but they're fighting back at 18-26. Giannis Antetokounmpo dominates with about 29 points and 10 rebounds. He attacks the rim like a freight train. The Bucks have also won two in a row, beating Washington and Toronto this week.
Indiana Pacers Struggling
Indiana sits at the bottom with an 11-35 record. They've lost their last two games badly. Tyrese Haliburton is out for the season, leaving a huge hole. Pascal Siakam tries to carry the load with about 24 points per game. The Pacers need to regroup and find new heroes to step up.
