Thunder Hold Off Magic in a 113-108 Battle
Tuesday night in Orlando felt electric from the opening tip. The Oklahoma City Thunder, the defending NBA champions and the top team in the Western Conference, survived a tough challenge from the Orlando Magic, winning 113 to 108. OKC led after every quarter, but Orlando never quit. The Magic closed the gap several times, making this feel like a real playoff-style game. With key injuries on both sides, role players stepped up and delivered. This game had everything — big performances, momentum swings, and high stakes.
SGA Pours In 40, Holmgren Dominates the Paint
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was unstoppable Tuesday night, finishing with 40 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals while shooting about 52 percent from the field. Although his team's lead fluctuated throughout the game, SGA remained calm and kept OKC's offense clicking. Chet Holmgren was equally impressive, recording 20 points and 12 rebounds on 57 percent shooting. His plus-10 rating showed how dominant he was when he played. Together, these two carried Oklahoma City through one of the tougher road games of their season.
Banchero Shines, but Orlando Falls Short
Paolo Banchero gave the Magic everything he had, finishing with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists while shooting an impressive 57 percent from the field. His plus-9 rating showed he was effective while on the court. Desmond Bane chipped in 16 points, and Jalen Suggs added 14 with 6 assists and 7 rebounds. Tristan Da Silva contributed 13 points with a remarkable plus-16 rating. However, Orlando's effort wasn't quite enough because Oklahoma City's depth proved too difficult to overcome down the stretch.
Injuries, Depth, and What Comes Next for Both Teams
Jalen Williams missed his 14th straight game for OKC due to a right hamstring strain, while Orlando played without Franz Wagner and Anthony Black. Despite those absences, Ajay Mitchell delivered 16 points off the bench, proving Oklahoma City's depth is genuinely special. The Thunder move to 54 and 15 on the season and face Brooklyn next on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Orlando sits at 38 and 30, still holding a playoff spot in the East. Both teams will need healthy rosters if they plan to make deep postseason runs.
