Cowboys Beat Giants 40-37
The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants played an exciting game. Dallas won a close match 40-37 in overtime. Both teams were excited. The Cowboys wanted to improve under their new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer. The Giants were hoping that their experienced quarterback, Russell Wilson, could help their offense perform better.
First Quarter: Defensive Battle Early
The game began as a tough contest, with both teams trying to figure each other out. The Giants scored first when kicker Graham Gano made a 38-yard field goal after a good drive led by Wilson's accurate throwing. Wilson quickly built a connection with star receiver Malik Nabers, who had been a top target in the league last season.
Dallas quickly responded with a field goal by Brandon Aubrey, making the score 3-3. The Cowboys' offense featured the talented duo of CeeDee Lamb and new addition George Pickens, but they were still finding their rhythm under Dak Prescott's direction.

Second Quarter: Offensive Explosion
The second quarter was all about scoring. Wilson got on a roll, throwing a beautiful 29-yard touchdown pass to Nabers. This showed the deep passing ability the Giants wanted from Wilson. Nabers ended the game with an impressive 167 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 catches.
Prescott quickly led a drive of his own, finishing with a 10-yard touchdown pass to KaVontae Turpin. The Cowboys’ offense showed off its balanced attack with running back Javonte Williams contributing both by running the ball and catching it.
Score at Halftime: Tied 10-10
Third Quarter: Cowboys Take Control
Dallas took charge early in the third quarter when Phillips intercepted a pass from Prescott that was meant for Lamb. This gave the Giants good field position, but the Cowboys' defense held strong and forced them to settle for a field goal.
The big moment came when Williams broke free for a fantastic 30-yard rushing touchdown, showing why the Cowboys believed in him after his time with the Broncos. This touchdown gave Dallas their first lead of the game.
Score after Q3: Cowboys 17, Giants 13
Fourth Quarter: Back-and-Forth Drama
The last quarter was full of excitement. Rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who had played well all game with 45 rushing yards, scored a 1-yard touchdown to put the Giants ahead 20-17.
However, Prescott wasn't done yet. He led the Cowboys on two scoring drives. Miles Sanders finished one drive with a 4-yard touchdown run, and Pickens caught a 6-yard touchdown pass with less than a minute left.
Wilson had one last answer, throwing a great 48-yard touchdown pass to Nabers with just 33 seconds remaining, tying the game at 37-37 and sending it to overtime.
Overtime: Cowboys Prevail
In overtime, both teams had chances to score. It was Aubrey who became the hero by kicking a 46-yard field goal, giving Dallas the thrilling win.
Wilson had an amazing game, throwing for 450 yards and 3 touchdowns, though he was sacked three times and made one interception. Prescott managed the game well under pressure, while the Cowboys’ running game helped with multiple scores from Williams and Sanders.
Looking Ahead
This win gives the Cowboys strong momentum under Schottenheimer, showing their improved offense can compete. The combination of Prescott’s throwing accuracy and the receiving skills of Lamb and Pickens looks very promising.
For the Giants, even though they lost, there were many good signs. Wilson’s connection with Nabers is looking strong, and Skattebo seems ready to help alongside Tyrone Tracy Jr.
The Cowboys will aim to keep this winning streak going in their next game, while the Giants will work hard to show this performance was not just a one-time thing. Both teams should be exciting to watch throughout the season.
