Derrick Henry Climbs the All-Time Touchdown List
A Strong Veteran for the Ravens
Running back Derrick Henry is one of the toughest and most powerful players in the NFL. At 31 years old, he joined the Baltimore Ravens after having a great 2024 season. Henry brings a lot of experience and leadership to the team. Because he’s been in the league for so long, he knows how to read defenses and find holes to run through. But there are also challenges. Last year, he carried the ball a lot, and running backs who get that many carries often slow down the next year.
A Slow Start for Baltimore
The Ravens have had a rough start to the 2025 season. They are 1-4, and quarterback Lamar Jackson is out with a hamstring injury. Hamstring injuries can take weeks to heal, so the team is being careful with him. Without their star quarterback, the Ravens are relying even more on Derrick Henry to lead the offense. Wide receiver Zay Flowers is also stepping up by catching more passes. Backup running backs Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell are waiting to help if Henry needs a break.
Chasing History
Even though the Ravens are struggling, Derrick Henry is still making history. He now has 110 career rushing touchdowns, which puts him at fifth place all-time in the NFL. The only players ahead of him are Emmitt Smith with 164, LaDainian Tomlinson with 145, Marcus Allen with 123, and Adrian Peterson with 120.
If Henry stays healthy and keeps scoring, he could move up to third place on the list, passing Allen and Peterson sometime next year. That would be an amazing achievement. However, it’s very hard to imagine anyone catching Emmitt Smith’s record of 164 touchdowns.
An Awesome Legacy
Derrick Henry has built his career by running through defenders and never giving up. Even though he’s older now, he continues to show great effort and strength every game. He’s known for being one of the hardest players to tackle in football. If he can keep playing well, Henry will finish his career as one of the best and most respected running backs in NFL history.
