Ravens Look Like Championship Contenders
The Baltimore Ravens enter 2025 with all the pieces needed for a Super Bowl run. Their explosive offense just tied for the third-highest touchdown production over the last three years with 62 touchdowns in 2024.
Elite Quarterback Leads the Way
Lamar Jackson returns as the NFL's most dynamic dual-threat quarterback. He posted career-high numbers last season with an 8.6% touchdown rate and 8.8 yards per attempt. Jackson threw for over 3,900 yards while adding 900 rushing yards on the ground. His ability to hurt defenses with both his arm and legs makes him nearly impossible to stop. The Ravens offense hummed under coordinator Todd Monken, ranking among the league's most explosive units.
Offensive Weapons Everywhere
Wide receiver Zay Flowers emerged as Jackson's top target in his second season. The speedy receiver reminds many of Antonio Brown with his dynamic route-running and playmaking ability. Flowers earned 24% of the team's targets and should see even more looks in 2025. The Ravens added veteran DeAndre Hopkins to give Jackson another red zone weapon alongside tight end Mark Andrews.
Running back Derrick Henry dominated last season with over 1,500 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. The 31-year-old bulldozer terrorized defenses with his power running style. Henry's presence opened up everything else in the passing game.
Defense Gets Major Upgrade
The Ravens addressed their biggest weakness by improving pass coverage. They drafted safety Malaki Starks in the first round to pair with Kyle Hamilton in the secondary. The team also upgraded at cornerback with Nate Wiggins. Last season, Baltimore ranked first against the run but struggled defending the pass. These additions should create a more balanced defense.
The Ravens already ranked second in the NFL with sacks while allowing just 80 rushing yards per game. Their improved pass coverage could make them a complete defensive unit.
Solid Foundation Up Front
Baltimore's offensive line ranks 11th in the league and provides solid protection for Jackson. They drafted tackle Emery Jones in the third round to add depth. This stable blocking gives Jackson time to find his weapons downfield.
An Exciting Season Ahead
The Ravens have elite talent at every level. If they stay healthy and maintain their offensive explosion, Baltimore could finally capture that elusive Super Bowl championship. All the pieces are definitely in place.
