Ravens Look Like Championship Contenders
The Baltimore Ravens enter 2025 with every ingredient for a serious Super Bowl run. Their offense erupted last season for 62 total touchdowns, tying for the third-highest mark across the league in the past three years. With balance on both sides of the ball, this team appears ready to chase a championship.
Elite Quarterback Leads the Way
Lamar Jackson returns as the most dynamic dual-threat quarterback in the NFL. In 2024, he delivered career-high numbers with an 8.6 percent touchdown rate and 8.8 yards per attempt. He threw for more than 3,900 yards and added another 900 rushing yards, forcing defenses to prepare for both his passing and running ability. Under coordinator Todd Monken, the Ravens offense ranked among the league’s most explosive units.
Offensive Weapons Everywhere
Zay Flowers has quickly become Jackson’s top target after an impressive second season. With 24 percent of the team’s targets, his speed and polished routes consistently created big plays. Flowers is expected to take on an even larger role in 2025. To strengthen the passing attack, the Ravens added veteran DeAndre Hopkins, giving Jackson another dependable red zone option alongside tight end Mark Andrews.
In the backfield, Derrick Henry delivered a dominant season with more than 1,500 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. At 31 years old, his punishing running style still overwhelmed defenses and forced opponents to respect the ground game. His presence opened up opportunities for Jackson and the receivers in the passing attack.
Defense Gets Major Upgrade
The Ravens prioritized fixing their pass coverage in the offseason. They drafted safety Malaki Starks in the first round to pair with All-Pro Kyle Hamilton, while also adding cornerback Nate Wiggins. Last season, Baltimore was the league’s best team against the run but struggled defending the pass. These additions should bring balance and versatility to the defense.
The unit was already dangerous up front, ranking second in the NFL in sacks while allowing only 80 rushing yards per game. With better coverage behind them, the Ravens could field one of the league’s most complete defenses.
Solid Foundation Up Front
Baltimore’s offensive line finished last year ranked 11th overall and returns as a reliable group. The team drafted tackle Emery Jones in the third round to provide additional depth. With solid blocking up front, Jackson has the time and protection to fully utilize his weapons downfield.
An Incredible Season Awaits
The Ravens possess elite talent at every position group. If they remain healthy and continue producing on offense at the same high level, Baltimore has a real chance to capture the Super Bowl title that has eluded them in recent years. The foundation is strong, the roster is deep, and all the pieces are in place for a championship push.
